This office complex in the form of two glass towers was designed and built in 2004 for a high-profile client, banking group Hypo Alpe Adria, as its Slovenian headquarters. The complex stands on Dunajska Cesta, one of the most prestigious locations in Ljubljana. The prominent location and the unique and architecturally ambitious design, featuring the charismatic "power of crystal", represent a future trend.
The functional design of the "intelligent" building has a clearly defined primary function – exclusive functionality – and a secondary function – maximum flexibility of internal organisation of space. It is designed as a double symmetric composition that descends in a cascade towards a central plaza. The building brings together business, retail and hospitality functions and features three underground parking levels. The architect is Jurij Princes, of whom the jury of the Chamber of Architecture and Spatial Planning wrote in 2008, when presenting him with an award, "he had a key and remarkable influence on contemporary and modern architecture in Slovenia in the 1970s, while through his creative work he continues today to ensure that architecture as a profession has a presence and growing importance in our society."
